Today I’m introducing a new feature! Once a month, I’ll be curating a small list of books that make me think, “I can’t believe I haven’t read that”. Then, I’d like you to vote on which book you think I should read in the following month. That’s it! Not too complicated, hey? 😉 I hope that I’ll be able to ‘catch up’ on certain books that I ‘should’ have read ages ago and finally be able to discuss those books with my fellow book lovers.
For this inaugural post, I sorted my Goodreads to-read shelf by number of ratings, highest to lowest. Then I picked the first four titles that invoked that key refrain, “I can’t believe I haven’t read that yet!” The titles listed below are in the top 40 of my to-read books with the most ratings. I didn’t feel a sense of urgency with any of the books that had +200,000 ratings, of which there are 11.
- Saga Vol. 1 by Brian K. Vaughn and Fiona Staples (169,895 ratings)
- Walden by Henry Thoreau (128,955 ratings)
- The Once and Future King by T.H. White (85,920 ratings)
- The Lottery and Other Stories by Shirley Jackson (54,344 ratings)
Which book should I read in July? Leave a comment below or vote on Twitter! (I can’t tell who voted on Twitter, so if you’re really gunning for a book you can vote in the comments AND on Twitter 😜) Twitter poll now closed but you can still vote in the comments until June 30.
