Bit About Books’ Spring 2021 Reading Challenge

Posted 20 March 2021 in events /4 Comments

On the heels of their Winter 2021 Reading Challenge, Kathie and Laurie @ Bit About Books are continuing the fun with a Spring Reading Challenge! I liked the sound of the winter challenge but had other things on my mind. I’m keen to give it a go this season. This time around they’ve included a colouring sheet element, which I find disproportionately exciting. I’ve already printed a copy and picked out my crayons. Be sure to check out the original post for full details, including a blank template to plan/track your reading.

My approach to reading goals and challenges is very lax this year. I do have some spring releases that I should definitely get to this season, though (mostly thanks to SLJ’s Middle Grade Magic event), so I’ve plugged a few in to the prompts where relevant. For the rest, I will see where my reading takes me.

My Selections

  • Reader’s choice: Even and Odd by Sarah Beth Durst
  • 3 syllable word in the title: Thanks A Lot, Universe by Chad Lucas
  • Own voices: Too Bright to See by Kyle Lukoff (transgender representation)
  • Non-human MC: Trouble in the Stars by Sarah Prineas
    • I will say I’m not 100% Trouble in the Stars features a non-human protagonist, but I’m going with that as the protagonist is a shapeshifter.

What books might you read for the Spring 2021 Reading Challenge?
