The Inside Out Book Tag is an older tag, but I just saw Lindsay @ Singer Stories complete it a few weeks ago. Kristina Horner created this tag. I didn’t used to do a lot of tags. However, I feel like this year I’ve been seeing a lot more creative ones that I’m interested in trying, so expect more tags from me in the future.
Which book brings you the most joy?
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien – One of my top three all-time favourite books, I know I can always turn to this one for a comforting read.
Which book grossed you out the most?
The North Water by Ian McGuire – In my original review, I wrote that this book lives right on the border of what I can stomach. The North Water is a darkly rich story with a lot of gory violence and sexual violence.
Which book scared you more than anything?
Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer – I’m not sure if this is the scariest book I’ve ever read, but I remember being freaked out by the biologist, especially in the later half of the book.
Which book made you cry the hardest?
Few makes make me cry. I imagine the last book that nearly made me cry was Kazuo Ishiguro’s The Remains of the Day. (I’ve only ever literally cried at John Green books, back in high school.)
Which book ticked you off?
Marcus of Umbria by Justine van der Leun … – I read this memoir EIGHT years ago. It was one of the first books I ever reviewed. I still remember wanting to hurl it across the room. The author was extremely rude and condescending.
