I participated in my first Top 10 Tuesday (embedded above) on 19 January 2016. TTT had already been running for years by then. :O Is there anything else in book blogging that’s ten years old?? Lots of thanks to the former team at The Broke and the Bookish for starting TTT and Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl for keeping it going. To celebrate, we’re looking back at the first TTT we participated in. Mine is easy because it was a list of books I’d recently added to my TBR. How many do you think I’ve read since? π¬
- National Audubon Society Guide to Landscape Photography β Oof, DNF. I stopped reading this after my camera was stolen part way through my NZ trip.
- The Reason You Walk by Wab Kinew – Removed from TBR. No longer interested in what he has to say.
- On the Shores of Darkness, There is Light by Cordelia Strube – Read and reviewed. β β β Β½
- The Boy Who Drew Monsters by Keith Donohue – Removed from TBR, on the recommendation of my sister, who read it.
- English Passengers by Michael Kneale – Still TBR.
- I Have a Bed Made of Buttermilk Pancakes by Jaclyn Moriarty – Read. β β
- The First World War by John Keegan – Still TBR. Definitely the book from this list that I have thought most about reading but still haven’t, lol.
- The Children’s Home by Charles Lambert – Read and reviewed. β β β Β½
- Drown by Esther Delano – Still TBR.
- Diving Belles by Lucy Wood – Still TBR.
Roughly 1/3 read, 1/3 removed, and 1/3 still TBR. Bit of an eclectic mix of titles I have here… Notably, no middle grade! I think later in 2016 was when I became more keen on reading new middle grade titles.
Have you read any of these books? Link your TTT in the comments so I can check it out!
I hope you enjoy the rest of these books on your TBR if/when you decide to read them.
My TTT.
Thanks Lydia!
This anniversary makes me feel old. I was participating a couple of months after TTT started! XD
It was quite a long time ago! ;P I had just graduated high school when TTT started. What a lot has changed since then…
It is pretty amazing that TTT has lasted ten years. Everything else in the book blogosphere seems to come and go like crazy! It’s a fun weekly activity, though, so maybe not so surprising that it’s been around for so long.
I don’t even recognize any of the titles you added to your TBR back in 2016! I’m glad you at least got to some of them.
Happy TTT!

Yes, I was really glad when Jana announced she was going to continue TTT! It really is a ‘timeless’ activity. Thanks for stopping by π
Ha yeah I looked at an old topic as well to see if I read what was on there and I just really lost interest in some because my taste just has changed over the years.
Right! That’s okay…I’m happy to remove a book from my TBR if it no longer piques my interest π
I have not read any of these, but I have read the quasi-YA version of that Jaclyn Moriarty book, The Spell Book of Listen Taylor (I say quasi since that’s where it was shelved in the library, even though the character perspectives include 2 children under age 13, several adults over 20, and zero proper teens). It was such a bizarre reading experience.

Ahh I remember hearing about that. I read and enjoyed all the Ashbury/Brookfield books but I have read a couple other Moriarty books that seem… yes, bizarre is a good word for them, haha. Including I Have a Bed Made of Buttermilk Pancakes.
