March 2021 Month In Review

Posted 2 April 2021 in month in review /11 Comments

Well, the full return to blogging in March plan went out the window. Third time’s the charm with April?! I feel more confident in saying that than ever before. I have mostly shed my particular brand of return-to-work stress. Now I can just deal with the ordinary stress from the mass stabbing at a nearby library last weekend and my workplace expanding hours as COVID cases rises higher than ever. ๐Ÿ™ƒ (Personally, I am not concerned about getting COVID at work. I’m more concerned about staffing levels stressed thin.) Anyway.

Two posts a week in April! I can do it. ๐Ÿ˜ค My work schedule changes next week which I think will help. Since January, I’ve had Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday mornings off. I’ll be going to back to Thursday mornings (instead of Tuesday) off, which gives me time to blog outside of the weekend. I’m also planning to make some upgrades to my seven year old laptop, which will hopefully make blogging a much smoother activity.

On My Radar in April

#OwnVoices indicated below AFAIK (I havenโ€™t read these books). Please notify me of any errors or places where I can be more specific.

How was your March? What new books, or bookish events, are you looking forward to this month?

  1. The stabbing at the library was terrible. You all must be under stress from many sides. Sending more good vibes!

New books this month? I am not good about keeping up with up to the minute books, but I have The Raconteur’s Commonplace Book on hold and that should come through this month. I’ve enjoyed all the Greenglass House books so I’m looking forward to that.

  2. I read “mass stabbing at a nearby library” twice because I wasn’t sure I read that right. That’s…not good. Your stress level is understandable. Gail D. Villanueva is an author I see around often. I need to look up her books and check her out soon. Wishing you a lovely April <3

    • I did a ‘double take’ too when I first heard the news. Thanks very much ๐Ÿ˜Œ I read Villanueva’s debut and found it a good read, but this new book sounds more my thing. Hope your month is going well so far.

  3. Yeah, being stressed at work after a mass stabbing nearby seems the appropriate response tbh, Hope your April is more calm.
My job has been, thankfully mundanely, stressful too, and I’ve fallen behind on the blog, but I’ve really got my hopes up for May being the comeback as I really loved Wyrd and Wonder last year.

    • Ugh, workplace stress, however mundane, is no fun, hey? I think we should get a month long holiday in May to celebrate Wyrd & Wonder, haha. I would love to throw myself into it as well again this year but I’m just realizing May is two weeks away and that seems very very soon…
