Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is Most Recent Additions to My Book Collection. IE What books did you get as presents this holiday season? Or what did you buy with gift cards? Here are the books that were exchanged in my household.
Mom Received:
- Playing the Long Game by Chritine Sinclair
- More Than a Footnote: Canadian Women You Should Know by Karin Wells
- Collective Wisdom: Lessons, Inspiration, and Advice from Women over 50 by Grace Bonney
Sister Received:
- Easy Tiki: A Modern Revival with 60 Recipes by Chloe Frechette
- Into the Windwracked Wilds by A. Deborah Baker
I Received:
- Where the Drowned Girls Go by Seanan McGuire
- Released in Jan 2022, I missed purchasing this while I was busy moving cross country. Happy to have a copy now! (I preordered a copy of Lost in the Moment and Found a few months ago.)
- Like, Comment, Subscribe: Inside YouTube’s Chaotic Rise to World Domination by Mark Bergen
- You may recall this title from some of my Nonfiction November discussions. This will likely be my first read when I’m done with Cybils.
- Depeche Mode by Anton Corbijin edited by Reuel Golden
- A massive Taschen book, one I have dreamt of owning since Taschen finally released it to us plebians. (The book was originally published in a limited run edition, signed by the band and Corbijin, for $2,500 USD.) Looking forward to having this on my coffee table and flipping through it over the next few months!
- Empire of Ice and Stone: The Disastrous and Heroic Voyage of the Karluk by Buddy Levy
- Ordered a copy of this for self with bookstore gift card.
- The Fall of Numenor by J.R.R. Tolkien, edited by Brian Sibley
- I wasn’t originally going to pick up a copy of this, but I flipped through it in store and decided it would make a good read. Purhased for self with bookstore gift card.
Which books did you gift or receive this holiday season?
I’ve heard good things about The Fall of Numenor. Enjoy!

You got yourself and other people got you some great books.
Thank-you! (I should clarify that not all the books my mom and sister received were from me.) I do enjoy picking out books to gift 🙂
In my family, we exchange library books! I got Knit Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood, a book about tea, one about the history of skirts in re feminism, and a couple of others, mostly nonfiction. I was gifted Nina Totenberger’s book about RBG, and gave myself the fourth Hawthorne and Horowitz novel!
What a fun idea! We could definitely exchange more books if we did that, hmm… Sounds like some fun reads to carry you into the new year.
More Than A Footnote sounds really interesting, I’ll have to look out for it here in the UK!

Thanks for stopping by 🙂
🙂
I’m a little behind on the wayward children. Or rather I missed reading books 6 and 7 and I missed buying a few others too so I need to catch up on those. Great haul.
Thank-you! You have some good books to look forward to with that series 😉
Nice way to showcase the books gifted and received! I got one book but gave at least 8ish to different family members.
Thank-you! Sounds like a good Christmas for your family 🙂
My sister was in town for Christmas and we ended up visiting a couple bookstores so I got some unexpected purchases! Some fiction, a graphic novel play, and a life lessons one
Oh, that’s fun! Love some unexpected finds.
