I crashed a bit in February, as I usually do, after January’s rush of posts and Cybils reading. The last weekend in February also saw me busy celebrating my birthday (and catching a cold š¤§). But I’m still on track with my Goodreads challenge! So I’m reading books I enjoy, and that’s the only metric that really matters. Hoping this month I can figure out two posts a week, though.

Challenges Check-in
A lot of these updates will repeat what I said in my January wrap up post… ah well.
- 2022 Support Book Bloggers Challenge
- No update here. The new-to-me post waits in my drafts so I’ll aim to schedule it later this week.
- 1/12 Challenge
- Still only one book completed, but I did start Jordan Ifueko’s Raybearer as a buddy read with Arwen @ The Tech Chef. This title was recommended to me by Dianthaa @ Dianthaa Dabbles.
- Let Us Read Middle Grade
- I read two middle grades in February. The Twitter thread remains on my to do list…
- Pondathon II
- This is coming along nicely, though I still need to update my character card and start dedocrating my garden. I just have one book remaining on my sign up TBR! I read The Mirror Season, and DNF’d Cemetery Boys and The Wolf and the Woodsman.
- 9/52 middle grade fiction novels
- 16/100 books read
- 975/971 TBR (No new TBR til April)
- Pretty good! Two down from where I was at the end of January.

How was your February? What new books, or bookish events, are you looking forward to this month?
Happy belated birthday! Wow, there were so many birthdays last month, including mine, my son and my husband, lol. Hope you have a good Marchš
Ahh, thank-you! Happy belated birthday to you and your family as well, haha š„³
Happy belated birthday! I hope you have great March.
Thanks very much š
I think you did a great job with books. Cute pup! Happy March!
I hope you enjoyed The Mirror Season! Definitely one of the most impact reads for me in 2021. The cover for Wildseed Witch is so gorgeous. I don’t think that one is on my TBR yet. I missed your tweet about blog drafts, but I usually draft a post and work on it periodically if it’s long. If it’s something short like a review, I’ll write it out first elsewhere (too many times I just stare at a blank blog post so I usually do this on Google docs or a notes app), then will draft the post itself. I may edit it while drafting, but usually like to give myself some time away from what I write to evaluate more clearly. I usually only go over it once before scheduling. Sorry for the long comment š
The Mirror Season was incredible!! I can’t believe I waited so long to read it… but I don’t think I would have appreciated it as much if I read it in 2021. I liked it better than McLemore’s previous two standalone books. Now I am really excited for Lakelore š
Thanks for sharing how you draft! I’m glad I asked the question because it’s been encouraging to hear the different responses, haha. Lately I find myself writing a post and publishing/scheduling it right away. I’d like to get back to finding time to draft, let it sit a bit, and then revise. (but of course finding time is always the challenge!)
Yes, I think my copy of Lakelore just shipping and I am so stoked! I like putting a little distance between my first draft and editing, but sometimes I am really bad at it and will have posts sitting in my drafts for far too long.
Ah, thatās the opposite end of the problem haha (/too much/ time left for editing). I have just asked my friend who works in a bookstore to pick me up a copy of LAKELORE so hopefully I get one soon! š¤š»
Once again these are such beautiful covers! I’ve been loving Pondathon for reading but I have no plans for this upcoming month on the blog so it’s feeling like it’ll be a scramble
Ah, I am feeling the same way – I was on top of my reading plans and had holds coming in regularly throughout Jan and Feb, but I have slowed down for March. Might do some rereading or read books I own :O
