Last week, I looked at five different reviewing styles that I like and considered what I’ve learnt from them (see part two linked above). This week, I’m considering what I like about my own style by looking at some of the reviews I wrote this year.
Reviews of the winners of September and October’s vote – The Book Whisperer by Donalyn Miller (non-fiction) and Cuckoo Song by Frances Hardinge (middle grade fiction)
It’s been awhile since I had a month worth reviewing! If you read my “What Am I Doing Here?” post from last week, you’ll know that I’ve finally settled into a routine this month. Hence all the action on the blog here. I don’t want to rehash what I wrote in that post, so let’s get right to the monthly recap.
In last week’s post (see above link), I discussed how I want to reconsider how I write reviews. I found it easy to be stuck in a rut of writing the same thing over and over. Although I don’t post anything I’m not mostly happy with, I have room for improvement (especially with books that I don’t review because I’m not sure how to do them justice.)
